Monday, August 28, 2017 at 7:02AM Westport will be the place to be on Wednesdays in September, when the inaugural Wicket + Peg Char Bar Cup croquet tournament is in action with support from the MCA.
Friday, August 25, 2017 at 5:00PM The MCA is pleased to announce that the 2017 MCA Championship will be held at Loch Lloyd in Belton, Missouri, on September 16, 2017. The Pro Division will have the morning start this year and will begin play at 8:30 a.m. The Gold Division start time will follow the Pro Championship, so the estimated start time is 12:20 p.m. The traditional all-white croquet apparel rule will be in effect for this event, which happens to be the fifth MCA Championship since the start of the Nine Wicket Series (9WS) in 2013. Loch Lloyd also has a dress code and details on that will be provided soon.
Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 5:50PM Three MCA players will be participating in this Saturday's Croquet Network States Shield Championship final as Missouri will take on the visiting Wisconsin team at Kactus Creek Croquet Club in Parkville, Missouri. From the MCA, Matt Smith, Steve Jackson and Billy Bob Breeden will represent Missouri.
Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 5:02PM The 2017 USCA National 9 Wicket Championship hosted by Kactus Creek Croquet Club will be held at English Landing Park in downtown Parkville, Missouri, September 22-24, 2017. The event will have a Championship Flight and a First Flight Singles and Doubles. The maximum number of entries is 24. The tournament will use standard USCA 9 Wicket Rules with options 1,1b,2,3,4,5,6,8.
Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 7:58AM With the dust settling on a big weekend of action at the Kansas City Open held at the Kactus Creek Croquet Club in Parkville, Missouri, the numbers all add up to a three-peat for Matt Griffith in the MCA Nine Wicket Series as he now leads the overall race by more than the 96 points that will be available at the MCA Championship in September.
Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 5:43PM The MCA Gold Division took to the court for the second half of the Kansas City Open this morning at 8:30 a.m. Five rounds later, Steve Jackson stood tall as the winner as he went 5-0 and won three straight on the King of the Mountain (KOM) court. The 10-player format on two courts acted like a Swiss while awarding more points each round for the winners v winners games. By round three, that created a KOM court that awarded six points per win and a secondary court that offered three points per win. Players that took a loss in the early rounds had a path back to the top of the mountain.
Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 8:06PM PARKVILLE, MO -- Matt Griffith took the 2017 Kansas City Open Pro Division title with a tight 19-17 win over Billy Bob Breeden at Kactus Creek Croquet Club in Parkville, Missouri. Griffith has now won three of the four Kansas City Open Pro titles and a record seven MCA Pro titles. Griffith advanced to the final after a 23-16 win over Dylan Goodwin. Breeden made it to the final after winning 24-22 thriller over Greg Adams in the semifinals.
Tomorrow the action resumes as the Gold players will hit the courts at 8:30 a.m. look to gain slots in the final eight for the MCA Gold Championship in September.
Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 8:26PM PARKVILLE, MO -- The 2017 Kansas City Open is set to roll out this weekend with 20 players lined out for battle at Kactus Creek Croquet Club in Parkville, Missouri. The Pro Division will start the action with at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. Nine players will play in three blocks of three with six players advancing to the afternoon knockout. Matt Griffith, Dylan Goodwin and Billy Bob Breeden will all receive the early morning byes and have 9:45 a.m. starts. All players are asked to be on hand 30 minutes prior to their first game.

The combo Gold and Silver Division will begin play on Sunday morning and have an 8:30 a.m. start. The combo division will try a new King of the Mountain (KOM) format that will guarantee all players at least two games in Gold and should provide good opportunities for players looking to qualify for the MCA Gold Championship and for players competing for the top spot. Full details on the format will be posted later this week, but the opening matchups are listed below.

Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 9:11PM Registration is open for the Kansas City Open nine-wicket croquet tournament to be held over two days at the end of July at Kactus Creek Croquet Club in Parkville, Mo.
The KC Open is the final regular-season tournament in the Midwest Croquet Association's Nine Wicket Series for 2017 and players' last chance to add to their points totals before the MCA Championship.
Please note: In 2017, the Pro Division takes its turn to play on Saturday — July 29. The lower divisions play on Sunday, July 30, this year. In 2016, the Pro Division played on the Sunday of KC Open weekend. Because of court availability, the divisions alternate days each successive year.
