Matt Griffith finished as runner-up in Championship flight to champion Paul Bennett. In First Flight, Bill Berg collected the second place prize as he finished as runner-up to Charles Berberich.
Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 4:51PM The golf croquet test between Kansas and Missouri is being called the MCA States Shield in anticipation of adding more state teams to the test in 2017. Goodwin World Media is providing a "MacRobertson" style shield for the event. The schedule follows and the key change from the prior announcement is that the event will start on Thursday night with two rounds and finish on Saturday morning.

Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:28AM After a roundtable discussion with the most experienced Silver players, the MCA is moving forward with utilizing carry-over deadness for tournament play in the Silver Division for the 2016 season. A key toward moving forward with the initiative was the launch of the Bronze Six-Ball Division in 2015, which should accommodate new players.
Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 5:06PM BELTON, MISSOURI -- The 2016 MCA Annual General Meeting was held at the Belton Wellness Center in Belton, Missouri on January 30, 2016 with a lunch sponsored by MCA partner Goodwin World Media LLC. Several topics were covered but the key story continues to be record-breaking growth in both membership and revenue for the MCA. Since launching the MCA Nine Wicket Series in 2013, the MCA has broken both membership and revenue records each year. For 2016, the MCA brought in $2493 in revenue which is up from $370 in 2012. On the membership side, the MCA had 43 members in 2016 versus nine in 2012.
Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 8:03AM BELTON, MO -- The MCA opened the 2016 Annual General Meeting with the announcement of the President's Awards for the 2015 season. Gabe Airrington took the under-18 award for best Junior Player of the Year as he compiled a 5-2 record in Silver Division play and also claimed a tournament win at the Lee's Summit T-Bone Tournament. Brevin Millican was honorable mention as he finished strong with a surprise run to the Silver Division Final as the #5 seed at the 2015 MCA Championship.
Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 7:06AM The 2016 Midwest Croquet Association Annual General Meeting will be held at the Belton Community Wellness Center from noon to 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016. The meeting is open to all 2015 MCA members and will cover the current financial picture as well as an overview of the overall MCA outlook. In addition, the Third Annual MCA President's Awards will be presented.
Monday, January 11, 2016 at 7:09AM LEAWOOD, KS -- The MCA has announced the 2016 Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Details on the venue and exact time are not yet set, but the MCA will provide those within the next week. The event is set to be held in the south Kansas City area and is expected to follow a format similar to previous years.
2016 SUNFLOWER WICKETS: The Mahaffie Farmstead has targeted Friday, June 3, 2016 for the Annual Sunflower Wickets Benefit and the MCA will again provide equipment, tournament management and officiating.
FLORIDA GC REGIONAL: MCA members Matt Griffith and Stephen Jackson played in the USCA's Florida GC Regional over the weekend. Griffith was upset in the quarterfinals by Michael Albert. Jackson made it to the semifinals where he fell to Albert 7-2, 7-4. Prior to the event, Griffith was ranked #8 in the US while Jackson was #23.

BELTON, MO -- It's championship week! The action starts on Friday evening with the Six Ball Championship at 6:00 p.m. at Markey Park in Belton, Missouri. Saturday morning the Pro Division will take the courts with an 8:30 a.m. start. Gold, Silver and Bronze follow with a 12:45 p.m. start. No meals are provided with this event.

LEAWOOD, KS -- Each year, the MCA headquarters springs into action after the final MCA 9WS regular season event and begins the invite process for the MCA Championship. For those not familiar with the format, MCA members that qualify in the top event of each division (12 in Bronze) get free entry into the championship. Non-members that qualify can still pay a fee to participate in the event. In addition, the MCA will offer a single-elimination Six-Ball Championship on Friday evening (September 18) that is free for members and open to all players with a $10 entry fee.
