Essentially, both Millican and Berg had a great chance to pass Johnson just by advancing.

The play-off is single-elimination. Lunch is not included, but there will be a gap provided for all players and there plenty of restaurant options near the facility. The event is free for qualified MCA members. Non-members that have qualified will simply need to join the MCA and can do that by paying the membership fee of $20 Saturday morning.

Monday, August 12, 2013 at 8:37PM PARKVILLE, MO -- MCA member Greg Clouse took first place at the 40th Edition of the Kansas City Invitational Tournament held this past Saturday in Parkville, MO. The event was six-ball (cutthroat) croquet. Overall, the MCA had three members in the final as Jodi Adams took fourth place and Ron Millican took sixth. Full results:

Monday, June 10, 2013 at 6:31AM With a win over Greg Clouse in the quarterfinals at Lee's Summit, Dylan Goodwin was able to leapfrog Clouse in the standings for the overall lead. Goodwin now has a 199 points in 10 games. Paul Miller stayed in second with 171 points in nine games, but is closer to the top position. Clouse follows closely in third place with 166 points. We now know that 30 or 40 points is easily made up in this race, so that means Robert Fournier (145) and Ron Millican (135) are still in contention. The race is on.

Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 7:44PM LEAWOOD, KS -- The MCA held it's Annual General Meeting February 9 in Leawood, KS and announced several new changes and initiatives. The most significant change is a new name -- the Midwest Croquet Association (changed from Missouri Croquet Association). The change is intended to better represent the organization's activities on both sides of the border and allow for expansion. New president Dylan Goodwin will work with the MCA Board to get a new logo approved that reflects the new direction of the association.
The big ticket item though was the announcement of a season-long nine-wicket points race for singles play. Details will be announced later, but the concept is that players will accumulate points at events hosted throughout the region. Top points players will then qualify for the MCA Nine-Wicket Championship event in September.
Most of the dates and venues are still to be determined, but Ron Millican announced May 4 as the official date for the Lee's Summit edition of the series (more details to come). The event will kick off the nine-wicket MCA season and Millican plans to have both partner ball flights and a cut-throat (six ball) flight as well. The MCA hopes to have at least one event per month over the summer with Warrensburg, MO and Overland Park, KS being likely hosts. August is being left open as many MCA players would like the opportunity to play in the 40th edition of the Kansas City Invitational in Parkville, MO.
The MCA also announced a $5.00 bump in membership fees for both singles and couples/families. Single memberships are now $20.00 and couples/family memberships are now set at $30.00.
Former MCA president Matt Smith asked to leave the MCA Board and Ron Millican has taken his place on the five member board. The board consists of Dylan Goodwin (President), Jodi Adams (Treasurer), Debbie Breeden (Secretary), Greg Clouse and Ron Millican.

Jodi & Greg Adams, Deborah & Ron Millican, Debbie & Billy Bob Breeden all of the Missouri Croquet Association attended the first annual Lawn Warrior Classic Croquet Fundraiser tournament to benefit ALS in Lincoln, Nebraska. The William G Lauer Foundation said the tournament was a success and they are planning to have another one next year.

Croquet in Lincoln, Nebraska for the ALS Fund Raiser
The day started off with meeting up with our co-croquet players from Cameron and riding together to Lincoln. We were going to Lincoln to play croquet in an ALS benefit. They had eight croquet courses set up and there were to be 64 people that were playing in this event. As we practiced we had fellow players who had not played croquet since they were kids out practicing with us and asking questions. I heard several times during the day “I never knew that there were rules I thought you just sent your opponents ball away as far as you could”.
At 1:00pm the tournament started. Each game consisted of four teams with two on a team. The Missouri partners were put on different courses which I believe was a very good move, as we were able to help the other players who really did not know exactly what they were doing and wanted to learn more about the game. They all were very interested in learning the various strategies of the game.
The top two teams from each game went on to the next game. Again after each game the top two sets went onto the next game until there were just four teams left for a final game. We had four teams that consisted of Joel and ??? (Lincoln), Billy Bob and Debbie (Cameron), Ron and Deb (Lee’s Summit) and Greg and Jodi (Kansas City). The field was surrounded by all the other players and fans to watch the game.
The final game was won by Greg and Jodi in first, Billy Bob and Debbie in 2nd, Joel and ??? in 3rd, and Ron and Deb in 4th.
I would have to say this event was well organized. They provided shirts for all players and lunch. They also had beer, pop, water and flowers that you could buy that would also help go to the ALS fund raiser.
This was such a great day! We meet lots of nice people in Lincoln and really just enjoyed the whole day. And the rain stayed away!

Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 7:23PM Sixteen players played at the University of Central Missouri field on a warm April 9. The format was high-low doubles and partners changed every game. Evan Taylor and Annie Frisbie, members of the UCM croquet club, played their first tournament and really enjoyed the event and both played well.
Greg Clouse and Jodi Adams played great as partners and ended up winning the tournament. Greg won in the championship flight and Jodi won in first flight.
I would like to thank eveyone for the support and look forward to hosting more tournaments in Warrensburg.
