2015 MCA Awards: Airrington is Junior Player of the Year

BELTON, MO -- The MCA opened the 2016 Annual General Meeting with the announcement of the President's Awards for the 2015 season. Gabe Airrington took the under-18 award for best Junior Player of the Year as he compiled a 5-2 record in Silver Division play and also claimed a tournament win at the Lee's Summit T-Bone Tournament. Brevin Millican was honorable mention as he finished strong with a surprise run to the Silver Division Final as the #5 seed at the 2015 MCA Championship.

Deborah Millican took the Most Improved Player of the Year Award based on winning the Six Ball Championship and the overall Gold Division race. Di Berg and Darin Watson were named honorable mention as they both had strong performances in Silver Division play.

Rookie of the year went to Ellie Kemp with a big group of new players getting honorable mention honors.

In the non-playing categories, Gwyneth Bowen took the Off-the-Court Award for her efforts in building out the annual Premium Tier MCA Jersey program and for taking over the manufacting of tournament player tags. Under the suggestion of board member Bill Berg a new Media/Marketing Award was created for 2015. Based on the setup and management of the MCA Twitter, Instagram and KC Croquet Club Facebook accounts, Justin Marciniak was named the first winner of this new award.

In a year where groundskeeping was relatively non-eventful, Dylan Goodwin was given the Groundskeeper of the Year Award for his role as Tournament Director and Manager for the 2015 events.
