With the launch of the new wiring rule modification, the MCA Rules and Competition Committee (R&CC) wanted to clarify the need for the change to correct the current iteration of the wiring rule. The first diagram explains the reasoning behind the allowance of a wired ball to become ball in hand on a ball that has occupied a corner. Essentially, the current rule still made it simple for an experienced player to create a virtually un-hittable leave after a first break.
The second diagram shows another simple leave that is virtually un-hittable, but avoids the wire. In other words, there is still a mid-game issue for the R&CC to solve.
