Westport will be the place to be on Wednesdays in September, when the inaugural Wicket + Peg Char Bar Cup croquet tournament is in action with support from the MCA.
Sixteen teams of two will play several 30-minute games per night in a round robin on Sept. 13, 20 and 27. Round robin standings will determine the seeding for the single-elimination championship on Saturday, Sept. 30.
The tournament is open to all and any skill level, whether beginner or MCA Pro level. Register here.
Proceeds from the event will go to Giving the Basics.
This is not an MCA event; however, the MCA is handling the tournament format, rules and game supervision on Char Bar's asymmetrical court similar to its support of Sunflower Wickets in Olathe.
Wicket & Peg and Lile Wines are providing bourbon samples.
This is a good opportunity to teach croquet in a festive, fun environment. Please help us get the word out.
