About Johnson County Cares

The purpose Johnson County Cares is to enhance the quality of life and wellness of the citizens in our community. We attempt to answer all of the pillars of poverty (housing, education, nutrition, employment, health) by connecting those who need them with the right resources and making the community aware of the needs of its citizens. Jo Co Cares had facilitated the homeless shelter during the coldest five months of fall and winter. We also facilitate some storage where members of the community can donate furniture and other items, and then we pass those items on at no cost to those who need it. Our next major project will be a day of service where individuals can come and receive services from multiple social service providers in one location.
