To better promote and support club play in the area, the Nine Wicket Series stats committee has been developing a Club-City points race to accompany the current singles points races. The concept is to award points to clubs based on how members place in 9WS tournaments. Because not every player is part of an official club, points for those players are rewarded to the city on their membership form.
The points would be awarded as follows:
1st - 25 points
2nd - 18 points
3rd - 15 points
4th - 12 points
5th - 10 points
6th - 8 points
7th - 6 points
8th - 4 points
All other competitors in an event earn one point for their club or city.
The concept is already in protype mode for 2018 with three Club-City Championship races being modeled -- Pro, Gold and Overall. This is how the model shapes up as the MCA heads into Championship weekend. The most current race standings are on the right under the 2018 Kansas City Open. The race standings under the Lee's Summit T-Bone are provided to show where the race stood after the first event.

Once the 2018 9WS season is concluded, the system will be reviewed and rules finalized for the 2019 season.
Placing for players knocked out in the quarterfinals or semifinals is based on the following tiebreaker criteria: 1) Game Wins 2) Head-to-Head 3) Winning percentage 4) Net points and if there is still a tie, the full point value is assigned to all players tied.
For events with less than an eight player playoff, block places are used for point assignment. Due to variances in formats, discretion is allowed in the awarding of points for these types of events.
